Dr Istvánné Túri (Éva Anna Molnár), Évike, Éva néni, our Mother, passed away on 31 August 2012.
She was born on 28 February 1938 in Lengyeltóti, a settlement in Somogy county. She spent most of her childhood here; in her memory it always meant an idyll, a happy and carefree life. The political upheavals after the war caused much bitterness for her and her parents. At the age of 21 she came to Pest, to the Experimental Farm of the Horticultural University in Soroksár, where her love of plants and her extremely good organisational skills were soon recognised.
After graduating from the horticultural technical school, she was entrusted with complex practical experimental tasks, which she always carried out with great precision with the help of her then work team. From the early 1970s, she began growing roses as part of a household garden. Using the traditional bare-root production technology, over a long period of time she and her husband jointly developed the cultivation of container-grown roses. Its advantages were the extremely good rooting success and the assurance of varietal identity.
After the change of regime, the household garden grew into a business, which, in addition to the cultivation of potted roses, also included other annual and perennial plants. From the end of the 1990s, through her work and perseverance, she laid the foundations for the results achieved by PharmaRosa® Ltd today.
As a Mother, she is unforgettable.
